Preventive Care
We emphasize the importance of having your pet examined by your veterinarian at least once a year. Indeed it is a minimum since this annual visit to your veterinarian is the equivalent, for your cat or your dog, of a single medical examination every 5 years for yourself with your family doctor. The annual physical examination, vaccination, annual stool analysis and a specialized diet, appropriate to the stage of life and the state of health of your animal, are the key elements which aim to prevent many health problems before they become too serious. Also, we offer a wide range of veterinary services that will help you keep your cat or dog looking their best for as long as possible.
Medical Care
The Clinique Vétérinaire du Vieux-Longueuil is equipped to offer diagnostic and therapeutic services to meet all of your cat's or dog's health and well-being needs. Our expertise and our clinical laboratory allow us to make a complete, correct and rapid diagnosis of all common pathological conditions. If your animal should present a rarer or more complicated pathology, we will not hesitate to refer you to the appropriate specialist in order to help us better treat our little patient.
Surgical Care
Our surgical care unit provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures in the areas of elective surgery, general surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, ophthalmology and orthopedics.
When your animal must undergo general anaesthesia, regardless of the procedure performed, it is important to emphasize the risks inherent in this procedure, which is general anaesthesia. Although we use the safest anaesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety for all of our patients, it would be unwise to trivialize such a procedure .
Other Care
We offer a boarding service but only for cats. Each guarded cat occupies a condo-style cage with a sleeping area separate from the litter box. All our cages are independently ventilated. All our residents receive special attention from our staff. They are taken out once a day and are brushed and given luxation 2-3 times a week. Know that it is unwise to leave your cat home alone for more than 24 hours. So if you have to go away, you can do so with peace of mind by leaving your cat boarded at the clinic, he will be in good hands!
Our grooming service under general anesthesia is for a cat whose coat is in such condition that it is impossible to brush it to untangle its fur without risking injury or injury.
We can provide you with advice on correcting problems such as urine out of the litter box, aggression, excessive nervousness, etc. Having ruled out a possible physical cause for such a problem, our first approach to behavioural problems will not be pharmacological. Rather, it will aim to modify and enrich the patient's environment so that the patient adopts acceptable behaviour.
